+1. I'd be looking for something other than a vent mount. Even if the vent didn't break, the 7" would probably be bouncing all over the place, making it inconvenient to read.Try Brodit accessories. They have specific brackets for each car. No drilling, fits nice and strong. You can the fix any kind of device for which you'll need a holder from the manufacturer ie TomTom or other. RAM also works great.
According to Tomtom The GO Discover 7 weighs around 400g, the GO 5000 weighs around 280g so in my opinion the ventilation fins will not last very long.I'll show you (with a photo) how I mounted a TT 5000 - 5'', using the TT original magnetic mount (powered, so it switches on with the car) and a brodit clip, dedicated for the car (an old Volvo V70 in my case). Did the same on the wifes car (other car, same TT holder). Both are really stable. Hope it helps.

Yes I agree, thats why a correct fixation device is right thing to do.According to Tomtom The GO Discover 7 weighs around 400g, the GO 5000 weighs around 280g so in my opinion the ventilation fins will not last very long.
Thank you. I will purchase that and keep things simple.Instead of buying a support for the ventilation grille, your GPS risks wandering to the right or falling to the left.
I advise you to buy the glued dashboard mounting discs https://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/navigation/accessories/mounts-docks/dashboard-mount-disks/
Which GPS model do you have to transfer your favorite routes to the new device?Hi so when you get a newer navigation device, I looked at instructions on copying your routes/favs to the new device from: https://help.tomtom.com/hc/en-ie/ar...ransferring-favourites-POIs-to-a-newer-device
It looks like everything is done through the MyDrive Connect and if I do a factory reset on the older navigation device that would not affect MyDrive because that is my personal account correct?
