TomTom Go Discover 7
Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a Tom Tom Air Vent Mount for Tom Tom Go Discover 7" Nav4 (WiFi)? I saw one for the 6" version but I need one for the 7" version or can recommend another brand for 7 inches?

The additional weight of the 7" makes hanging it off an air vent a bit of a risk. Too many thin vanes out there that wouldn't hold up except perhaps on a glass smooth road. That's why TT doesn't offer one as an option.

Not even RAM makes a vent mount for the 7" TomToms.

Try Brodit accessories. They have specific brackets for each car. No drilling, fits nice and strong. You can the fix any kind of device for which you'll need a holder from the manufacturer ie TomTom or other. RAM also works great.

+1. I'd be looking for something other than a vent mount. Even if the vent didn't break, the 7" would probably be bouncing all over the place, making it inconvenient to read.

I don't think Brodit has anything for this model, either:

I'll show you (with a photo) how I mounted a TT 5000 - 5'', using the TT original magnetic mount (powered, so it switches on with the car) and a brodit clip, dedicated for the car (an old Volvo V70 in my case). Did the same on the wifes car (other car, same TT holder). Both are really stable. Hope it helps.

According to Tomtom The GO Discover 7 weighs around 400g, the GO 5000 weighs around 280g so in my opinion the ventilation fins will not last very long.

Yes I agree, thats why a correct fixation device is right thing to do.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I have a Ford Mondeo 2014. I am giving my Tom Tom Go Discover 7" to my mother and she prefers it on the dashboard so all good on that front. So I am thinking of getting the Tom Tom Go Superior 6" with the TomTom Active Air Vent mount for 5" & 6". Does anyone know if that air vent mount be compatible with a Ford Mondeo 2014 car? I attached a pictures so you see what the vents look like. Also I am guessing the Tom Tom Air Vent is compatitble with the new Tom Tom Go Superior 6" model? The link for the air vent I am referring to is: https://www.amazon.co.uk/TomTom-Vent-Mount-Active-Professional/dp/B01L8PL6D0?th=1

Does anyone know the dimension of the ball on the backside of the Tom Tom Go Discover or Tom Tom Go Superior?

A hardwired connection with MyDrive Connect running on a PC in the background isn't required to move items from a MyDrive web account to the newer devices. This can also be done by enabling WiFi on the device and connecting to a router or phone hot spot, or by connecting using the MyDrive phone app. All three methods will work providing the content can be found on the web account, and the device is logged in with the web account credentials.

Hi so when you get a newer navigation device, I looked at instructions on copying your routes/favs to the new device from: https://help.tomtom.com/hc/en-ie/ar...ransferring-favourites-POIs-to-a-newer-device
It looks like everything is done through the MyDrive Connect and if I do a factory reset on the older navigation device that would not affect MyDrive because that is my personal account correct?
Which GPS model do you have to transfer your favorite routes to the new device?

if you do a factory reset on the old device before backup you will lose everything.
