in a rash moment just bought a superior tomtom and jinxed it. Screen showing a computer, a lead with a redx and a TomTom with red triangle inside. Have pressed and held power button with no result.

Seems like the TomTom is asking you to "please plug me into a computer".
Maybe needs to update or even basic setup.
