Tomtom and Google

Google and Tomtom One XL not working

Hey

I've been TRYING to get Google POI's with my Tomtom One XL with it's HOME program, I keep getting this...

"You have clicked an 'Add to TomTom' button. Unfortunately, TomTom HOME cannot add the item to your TomTom device because there is something wrong with the button.

Please report this error to the webmaster of the website. "

I tried it on my Mac and PC and get the same thing. :{
Any idea's?
thanks!

I have been experiencing similar problems getting google to add poi's to my tt. Each time I got to the gps button and attempted to create the file to add to the tt I got "You have clicked an 'Add to TomTom' button. Unfortunately, TomTom HOME cannot add the item to your TomTom device because there is something wrong with the button." I downloaded the latest version of Home from the website and this seems to have solved the problem. Now when I to send the file to the gps I get a screen asking me to connect the unit to the computer. This only appears to work with Internet Explorer. I have been unable to do so with Netscape or Firefox.
I do find that some locations even if businesses do not result in the send to "gps option".

That's the error you get on the Mac because the Version of HOME doesn't support this yet (evidently). I got the same thing myself.

thanks the google map stuff does not work with home for pda/mobile..
even though it lets me pick that as an option I get the no button error..

that is neither here nor there.. too cumbersome anyway..

here is what I want to do I have tom tom on nokia cell phone and instead want to send a special text message or email that I can either preferably open and tom tom recognizes it as a new poi to route too or an attaqched file for a poi or itn that I can save in the tomtom directory to have it recognize the route.. any suggestions.. mapquest is an option also

Thanks for that link. I was hopeful, but I just tried it and it didn't work. After moving the 'start' and 'stop' points slightly to generate lat/lons, clicking 'link to map', copy and pasting into the blank below, all I got was the tilde (~). :(
