Very slow navigation start using Carplay

Since a few months it takes up to a minute for the navigation app to start navigating after selection either home or work.

My wife has the exact same issue. Both iPhone 13 Pros running iOS 17.4.1, different cars (2019 Audi A3 and 2020 Toyota Corolla). You start the TomTom app using Carplay, you click options, you select Home or Work, and it'll hang up to a minute before it finds the route and prompts you to start navigating.

Is this a known issue?
 
Managed to contact TomTom support, apparently you should disable Online Search and Online Routing under TomTom Services. Apparently something to do with Carplay trying to fetch a license or something.
 
Without connecting to carplay, does the application work on your phone?
Yes, works fine. According to TomTom support it has something to do with Carplay verifying licenses online. Turning those options off should fix it.
