Not possible to start TTGo Nav app without internet connection

Quick analysis: if I disable the Pi-hole on my VPN server, it works even if the traffic is routed from Android via the VPN server. So the problem is somewhere in the Pi-hole.

I check queries that are blocked when TomTom wants to start and compare them if I disable Pi-hole for a while.
Next URLs looks "suspicious":
- api.mixpanel.com
- remote-data.asnapieu.com
- device-api.asnapieu.com

If I allow them, TomTom starts!
Can other users with problems check if they have any apps (or VPN) that can block those URLs?
Maybe any Ad Remove software?

So recently I have bought a brand new phone with clean operating system and this problem persists. I have pretty expensive truck subscription and it's very sad that this smartphone version of the app cannot work without internet connection despite it can download offline maps to use it.

Is developers reading this forum, can they address this problem? Or can commentators help me and other people who struggle with this? Maybe there is a workaround

Example: All I see is that spinning wheel in the black starting screen when I try to start it without internet- program doesn't start.

Can you please contact us with a reference to CCARE-3626?

Go to https://help.tomtom.com/hc and click the Contact us button in the bottom right corner. Type "contact" since the bot cannot cover this. Make sure you mention the above ticket number. Also include your phone model and Android version and the app version. Preferably, attach a video.

I think the problem is present if you have "Online Routing" enabled in "TomTom services". It clearly cannot Online route with no internet! Tested on Galaxy A16 5G - Android 14

The map is installed on the phone so there should be no problem starting the app in airplane mode.

There was a new version of the app 3.6.283 to check if it fixes the problem.

I have 3.6.283-beta. Put the phone into airplane mode and start TomTom. It stays on the splash screen. Then I disable airplane mode and try again. It works.
It confirms my writing from Wednesday. TomTom needs above mentioned URLs available.

I don't understand what's going on so this won't help much.
I just did as you said: put the phone in airplane mode and start TomTom.
Does the app start?

I had the exact same issue. Whitlisting these domains fixed it!

Useful thread. Had Android TomTom Go on various Samsung phones for years. Over the last couple of weeks startup got slower and slower on the phone but Android Auto continued to work well in two cars. Today it wouldn't start up at all on the phone. I deleted cache, no help. Deleted data, no help. Reinstalled the app, no help. After reading this thread tried switching off Proton VPN, no help.

However, it now works having switched off the Proton VPN Netshield function. This is an ad and tracker blocker in Proton VPN.

After switching off Proton VPN Netshield, Tomtom Go loaded up again within seconds. It now works with and without Proton VPN Netshieled switched on or off.

So maybe there is an new aversion to ad or tracker blocking.

Samsung Galaxy S23FE
Android 14
Tomtom Go Version 3.6.283 (5252)

Logged in to Tomtom Sevices; raffic, on line routing and search enabled, my drive not enabled.

As I said, the problem lies (at least) in the next URLs:
- api.mixpanel.com
- remote-data.asnapieu.com
- device-api.asnapieu.com

Yes, very useful.

I've tried Tomtom Go on my S23 FE Android 14 with various features switched on and off.

These combinations always work.

1. Airplane Mode on
Wifi off
Tomtom Services, Logged out
[Note, you need an internet connection to log in again]

2. Airplane Mode on
Wifi on
Tomtom services, Logged in or out

3. Airplane Mode off
No Internet connection
Tomtom Services, Logged out

4. Airplane Mode off
Internet connection
Proton VPN NetShield Ad blocker on
Tomtom services, Logged out

5. Airplane Mode off
Internet Connnection
Proton VPN NetShield Ad blocker off
Tomtom services, Logged in or out

So, in my case, if I am logged out, Tomtom Go always starts.

If I am logged in I need to disable my VPN ad blocker.
