Issue with Mobile Camera Update Stuck at 50%

Do you have a valid radar subscription?
Of course I do, it has lifetime updates and speed cameras. I’ve been using it and updating it for 6 years. Never an issue before and it’s listed in my drive as an update for my device…

If I remember correctly, the GO 6000 trucker only has 1 year of radar updates.
If you have lifetime radar updates, you don't have a professional GO 6000.

Oh I do, this is a UK device and that’s what I purchased!
They’re called speed cameras in UK and we get speed camera updates via my drive.
I have exactly the same on my GO 6100….

Yes, of course, except that the GO 6000 professional does not have lifetime radar updates.
I said I have a GO 6000 trucker!

Why are you renaming it “GO 6000 professional”?

GO 6000 Trucker is what I purchased with lifetime updates for maps, speed cameras and live traffic! It’s a UK device and has an internal built in sim.
My Drive connect recognises it as “GO 6000 Trucker with lifetime updates”
This is what TomTom themselves call it! You’re sorely mistaken and obviously don’t know the product at all.

Yes, it's a GO 6000 Trucker. It's also a (GO designed for Professionals) that has lifetime maps. It only has 1 year of traffic and radar services, that's how it was offered by Tomtom.

Why do you think you can tell people what they’ve purchased? You’re treating me like a fool 🙄
I detailed my device has lifetime updates! And it does!

First of all, reread all my messages, I never called you an idiot.

I showed you the box of a GO 6000 trucker sold by Tomtom.

If you have something other than what is indicated on the box, good for you.

I’ve posted a photo of the box, the actual box of a lifetime trucker 6000, not one I found online!

I also have a GO 6100 that has lifetime updates, here’s the box…

I sincerely hope that others will join this thread—the more weightage it gets, the better. It cannot be just the two of us here; there must be many others( @ the least - 5100 /6100 holders) going through this who just haven't realized it yet/or haven't had the opportunity to update it yet with this week's or last week's "thrown to the customer" update.

I have 2 expensive TomTom devices and both have the same issues since the last update.
Both won’t update speed cameras and get stuck at 50% then fail.
Like yourself I’ve tried different pc’s, different locations and different broadband services, every time it’s the same result. It’s a TomTom issue, it’s not a user issue.
Oh and like yourself I’ve never seen “software update”, until now…

I have suffered the same issue on my GO 5100 - until today. I noticed the size of the download had changed so tried again and its worked! Definitely points to a faulty download on the tomtom site.

Quick update - there is now a 121kb download that looks to download and successfully update the 5100 but the download remains on the update list.

No, the VPN won’t be an issue. I use the "client" installation (front end part of the application) of the TomTom Connect at work and at home. I never use a VPN.
The file uploaded there is corrupt or behaving strangely (obviously it wasn't regression tested before putting it out there )
. I haven't tried the new upload yet, but I will report back once that's done.

and Thanks, everyone, for joining in here, by the way.

I had a reply from support, this is what they say…

It seems you may have encountered a temporary issue with the Speed Camera update. To resolve this, please follow the steps below:

  1. Open MyDrive Connect.
  2. Navigate to Settings in MyDrive Connect.
  3. Uncheck the option for ‘Download updates on my computer’.
  4. Click on SAVE SETTINGS (Important)
  5. Perform a soft reset on your TomTom GO 6000 device by holding the power button until you hear the drum sound, then release it.
  6. Restart your computer.
  7. Reconnect your device and check for updates again.
I have followed the advice but the issue persists, nothing changes.
There is now permanently a 121 kb speed camera update remaining in My Drive Connect updates. It appears to install, says it has, but then just consistently re appears no matter how many times it’s updated.
