Update won't load

Updated Tom Tom ONE XL ... won't load system file and won't restore old program says restore is not available ... restart TomTom and says I have no maps...:rant:

updated TomTom Home ... can now update XL ... under "operate my ONE XL" get "no maps found" ... disconnect XL from computer and get white screen with "The GPS signal was lost %s ago"

Try this.........

Connect to the computer and make an Explorer, not Home, backup of your unit's contents. If not sure how, see here:

Then delete all the loose files in the root of the unit, NO folders or their contents.

Connect to Home and install the application that should be offered. Disconnect properly from Home using the Device Disconnect icon.

tried it ... went through set up after disconnect from computer ... still no maps found

Was the map on your device an upgrade from the original by any chance?

It was the original map when I started. Then went to TomTom Home to update. Then my troubles began.

You can try running the Clear Flash tool 3 times. It's found here:

May not help but won't hurt.

Also, when you look at the contents of the device using Explorer, do you see a specific map folder in it with files inside?
