But I found one from that guy for $8.95 and it seems he'll ship it to Spain for another $14. Will this $8.95 one work OK?

That's the one I got for my 930. Works fine. Someone here also posted (I can't find it) that these antennas don't expire, I think they may be from way way back when Tomtom intro'd traffic into the US. At that time I think traffic was free.

If it does run a year like the new ones do, the year starts from when they're first plugged in (a chip in the antenna stores the date).
