TomTom Model(s)
Go Exclusive 7
Hi everyone,
I purchased two Premium Voices for my TomTom GO 6200. TomTom emailed me to advise that I was using outdated technology and to upgrade to the TomTom Exclusive 7, offering a tempting 35% off the usual price.

The new device arrived today and I reach out to this Forum because I have been unable to access a human being to assist! Despite my best efforts!

I require instructions with regard to transferring the paid for voices to my new device, if this is at all possible on the Go Exclusive 7?

Seems to be stuck on downloading new maps too! Now 'partially updating' and has been stuck at 7.2GB for over an hour now!

It has been a while since I required assistance from TomTom and their lack of human interaction is making me feel that it might be better to return the new item, receive a refund and stick with the GO 6200, which has been faultless for me, despite TomTom's claims of this device using 'outdated technology'! Or maybe purchase a device from one of their competitors?

Can anyone assist?

TYIA!

Hi
The voices are no longer available on the Tomtom website and it is no longer possible to transfer them to new GPS devices.

To download a map, your GPS must be connected to your computer.

Last I checked, the way to download a new map to any of the recent TomTom devices was WiFi only. Have never understood why they don't allow map updates via wired connection.

There was a problem with the translation the (ne) has been deleted

Thank you for the swift response!
I think that I will return the new device and stick with my GO 6200!
The 'outdated technology' would appear to be superior to that of the GO Exclusive 7!

If I had a choice, I'd probably keep the 6200, too. Don't know if you use custom POI, but those aren't possible on the newer devices, either.

@Whitebandit
TomTom email was a mistake

OK, so getting my head around not being able to have Stephen Fry or Roger Moore guiding me any more!
What is the general view of the GO Exclusive 7?
Worth hanging on to?

What do you think that it can do for you better than your 6200?

Just been contacted by TomTom support, claiming that Premium Voices can be installed on GO Exclusive 7, together with step by step instructions!

Before I undertake a device reset, (it took hours to download maps) have asked for confirmation that this is actually the case!

Tomtom's response is strange.
The celebrity voices are no longer available on the online store and the only voices available are free.
