It doesn't even come with the latest map as of yesterday when v835 mapping was released for PND/ PDA, yet another reason why this isn't a good purchase at the moment - Mike

Sorry, you are correct. That information is a day newer than what I had. The latest information is that TomTom is actively working on a solution to ensure that anyone that purchases this app will always have access to the latest maps. I will give you an update when I know more.
