Go 1000 is cool but MyTomTom Sux

My goodness the Mytomtom web server is awful as does the application on my PC . It is all very confusing as once my tomtom 1000 is connected to my computer it just says " Connecting" constantly and on the website also says connecting and never connected. although on the site it says you device is up to date.. There is no information about what has been updated. I think i would prefer tomtom home again ..and that is saying something considering it was a pain in the ass to use.

I went back to the older software and the reboots have lessened but still far more than when it was new.

It also takes forever to get Google or Traffic which may be more indicative of TomTom's poor financial position but as a customer I don't care why but just that its happening and happening on my dime.

While it's possible that it's hardware, it's not likely since there are several software issues that lead to this - and hence, the "useful life" may be much longer than you think.

In your shoes, I'd assure I have a copy of your whole map folder safely tucked away on your PC (backup of the whole thing would be best), I'd wipe the rest and reload from TomTom. There are instructions and discussion of this in a couple of places here.
