Hi, I am a newbie so bear with me. My TT XLS will not start up with out battery or USB power. Once it has power and starts up, I can unplug the power source and it works fine. I know when I got it (Dec.2007) would start up with out a power boost. Any suggestions?

Are you using an SD Card?

If so, please look at Q5 on my FAQ webpage:

If that isn't your issue, then I would try the Clear Flash tool from TomTom:

try rebooting it there a small hole in the bottom just insert a papper clip
that should do the trick
