Start 25 downloading maps.

I appreciate this may have been covered before, however I'm having problems downloading USA + Canada map on to my Start 25. I've formatted and installed an 8gb micro sdhc card but the installation screen doesn't give me the option to download. It says I've insufficient memory on the device! Any advice would be appreciated.

Did you let the device format the micro card? And what brand is it? Some are turning out to be very problematic, like PNY. SanDisk seems a good choice.

I can't see where this Start 25 will format a card. However, I have formatted it on my laptop. It's a Sandisk 8gb micro SDHC card. I'm using MyDrive Connect, which is correct for the Start 25, but it's not very intuitive.

Insert the PC FAT 32 formatted card and use MyDrive Connect to see if there are updates for your device.
You will be asked if you want to format the card, say yes. I t will tell when finished.
After TomTom's formatting, checking the card on the PC will show that it is 100 % used; ignore as TomTom uses a different system.

Thanks guys for your help. Finally spotted the problem - the sd card is a real bugger to click into place. Anyway, card now formatted and all is working OK! Cheers, bazza.
