Rotary direction prompt

Here's the behavior of the TomTom:

When approaching a traffic circle where your exit is almost all the way around the circle, the voice will prompt "TURN LEFT ON THE ROTARY' yet the map shows a right hand turn. When the exit isn't quite as far around the circle, it announces the correct "TURN RIGHT ON THE ROTARY, FOURTH EXIT" or however many exits away you are. The key difference is how close your exit point is to your entry point.

This issue has existed for years on different models of TomTom devices, different voices and using the latest maps and 9.061 application version.

Well, I gave this a try on one of our local rotaries with the following results:

Going in at 6 o'clock and exiting at 3 o'clock Susan said, "Go Right on the Rotary, First exit..."
Okay, so far.

Going in at 6 o'clock and exiting at 12 o'clock Susan said, "Cross the Rotary, Second exit..."
Still okay.

Going in at 6 o'clock and exiting at 9 o'clock Susan said, "Go Left on the Rotary, First exit..."
WHOA!!! CRASH!!! BANG!!! TINKLE!!!
Where the #%@@ am I supposed to go?

If I follow Susan's directions I crash.
If I follow the road signs how am I supposed to know where the first exit is if the directions are for me to go left?
True, the average rotary has 4 entrances/exits and it would be the 3rd one, but there are some with more or less, so how am I supposed to know were to get off the darn thing???
Well, at least the map and lane arrows are correct, but with watching out for the traffic on the rotary, who's looking at the GPS display?

Are you sure it isn't saying "GO left on the rotary"?
That makes perfect sense to me.

Going in at 6 o'clock and exiting at 9 o'clock Susan said, "Go Left on the Rotary, First exit..."
