We have new maps for the US version of tomtom 720/920 v 7.15. 1683mb for 720 and 1953mb for the 920. The European maps came out a couple of weeks ago. After all the fuss with the 7.10 upgrade, now we have newer maps. I wonder what is new. Anybody got em yet?;)

I purchased a GO 720 two days ago with the 705 load. I used the Latest Map Guarantee the first day and upgraded to 710 load (along with the Speech Recognition "patch").

I attempted to use the Latest Map Guarantee today after viewing this post but, received a message stating I had the latest load (710.1584).

Should I be concerned ?

why can't I get it for free with the map guarantee? It hasn't been 30 days since I got my 720.

TomTom home is saying there's no update available for me either.

I'm running the latest FW, TT Home and 710 maps.

Edit: I see it now in the store. Hmph.

I wonder if I should call tom tom and cry to them I want this new map (I've had my 720 for about 90 days now)?

Otherwise, I'll just wait 1 or 2 more releases seeing how the upgrade is $100.

I used the lastest guarantee to get 7.15.

I haven't noticed a single difference around here. I'm going through chicago next week so we'll see how the maps do there. Other than missing streets, being able to close streets, turns out, the map share might really help there. I wouldn't be in a rush to spend $100.

I bought a 920 last week and have tried the Latest Map Guarantee. It only shows Western Europe. So I called Tech Support, and they said I have to fax them my receipt and Code.

I'm beginning to think Garmin is another way to spell s-i-m-p-l-e.

Hey Bobaloolie.
Never thought that you're still hanging around (and whining).:D
Magellan Maestro have been out for quite a while, you knew that didn't you ?
The grass is always greener on the side of the fence isn't it ?

Hi Lec! Warm greetings to you. Glad to see you still working for TomTom.

I've used both Magellan and Garmin (tested them extensively). The TomTom has the best options... but far too many glitches. Will pick up a 760 and give it a go.

In this case, the grass is greener. Just not as nicely landscaped.

I called to ask them about the 715 map and they told me the same thing,
but I don't have that promo code anymore, I think it got tossed.
They said they were sorry but couldn't help me without it.
I'm starting to wonder if I made a poor choice in going with a TT instead of another brand.

i did that same thing and i got the update...its not hard

tomtom is very nice and will send u the update once u provide the code and receipt....and the maps seem better...cant point it out but they just seem to work better...one of those things u cant figure out why but u know its working better...plus my speed limit now works....
now we just need the get the 920 poi's....

I even went so far to force home to look at internal memory, which has no map, using map guarantee, it still shows 710 as the latest.

edit: just found this on TomTom's web site...Latest map guarantee means that if a newer map is released during 30 days from when you first start using your device, you’re entitled to one free map download.

One free download. Which means for the majority of us that d/l'd 710, we can't get 715 without paying???

its a little stupid that since we decided to buy the tom tom at a certain time, now were going to be stuck with a map that is incomplete (because thats the reason they update the maps). they should really change the time period from 30 days to 60 days. i didnt buy a gps to then have to buy a new map within 35 days of my purchase. not cool

I've wondered the same thing... Especially when it comes to buying maps and not getting them, rebates and map guarentees... There is a 99% chance we're not going to be able to help. *shrug* :D
