Sorry I do no much about Riders right now, but I don't think there is a Navcore 7 update for TT Riders. Please correct me if Im wrong.
If this is the case then the v7 maps will not work on Riders.
v7 maps need the Navcore 7 to function.

You are correct, and I have verified that with support. The very latest version available for the TTR2 is the V675.

In the german TT forums they expect the Navcore 7 for Rider I and II until end of the month, because there is a 50% discount offer for each map, that ends on Jan. 31st and they certainly want to earn some money on map updates.

I was in touch with tomtom support about this issue last week and part of the reply was as follows;

We are working on updating the Riders to application 7 so you can use MapShare, but unfortunately at the moment we haven't got this update available yet. I asked around, and the general date we are aiming twards is somewhere in April, so in a couple of months time you can start checking again.
