bought my first GPS a TomTom XL 330S and is there anything i should know about it. ?? THANKS
thanks will do.Yes. Make a full backup using Explorer, not Home. Ensure hidden files/folders are showing.
Then update your firmware and then, in Home: Tools-->Latest Map guarantee. You have 30 days from first use to get it.
Then ANOTHER full backup using Explorer.
THANKS againTap the satellite bars and the next screen shows the FIRMWARE version installed. Now, tap the version number and the next screen shows the map, the version and the build installed.
I believe for the 330 series that the latest map is 8.15
What is your firmware? (tap the satellite bars and the next screen shows the version number).
Well, if you don't have or need MAP version 8.15 at this time, you need not update your firmware to the buggy 8.3.
Are you still within the 30-day Latest Map guarantee window?
THANKS will doWithout 8.3 firmware installed, you will not be offered map 815.
If you got it this week, I'd wait a couple more weeks. Check this forum to see if a fix ever has gotten released. If no fix by about the 21st or 22nd, then you may want to go ahead and see if there is a firmware update and then if there is a newer map using your Latest Map guarantee.
