HI All,

I'm new to the forums and have a question or two,

I have a tom tom xl 30 series. Is it possible to change the way in which the device works out your estimated time of arrival?.

I'm using the device on UK roads and it looks as though the device averages the speeds to about 60mph for motorway and major trunk roads. I need to lower this speed as the heavy vehicle I drive only does 50mph maximum.

Also, is there a way to programme the device to not use certain roads permanently. I'm aware I can do this once a route has been calculated but is there a way to do this permanently.

Also, do Tom Tom sell any software to install for Truck drivers. (I.e, bridge heights, weight limits etc)

Many Thanks

Welcome to the forum, TomTom do indeed sell a device with Truck related options such as axle weight, width, height etc see Here Also it was possible to get these options working on a 940, see Here for a video of it in action, I doubt you will get either option working on your XL though as thats not a device I have seen "Work" option for - Mike

I'm not sure if your model has "planning preferences" in the menu, but if it does you could choose "limited speed" and it should plan a route with a max speed.

Also, to permanently erase a road, block it in the mapshare menu. Just don't share it with others if it is a legitimate road.
