How to pass on a TomTom Go 51 *including* the "lifetime" maps subscription?

I no longer need or use my TomTom Go 51 and would like to pass it on (not sell it) to a friend of mine.
The device came with a lifetime maps subscription. Can I also pass on this subscription?
This post suggests a factory reset. Will the recipient then be able to re-register it, including registering the maps subscription and the MyRoute app?
If not can I just pass on my existing TomTom user profile in addition to the device?
This post suggests that the "lifetime" subscription is automatically terminated after 10 years (a year and a half from now).
Will my friend be able to reinstate it as described in that thread? If not, can I apply in advance for an extension?

The lifetime maps are assigned to the device so no worries, your friend registers your GPS to his email address
After 10 years, your friend will have to contact Tomtom to reactivate the lifetime maps.
