how to monitor battery life?

Before doing anything, make a complete Explorer, not Home backup of your unit's contents. Don't forget to take advantage of the Latest Map Guarantee within 30 days of first use.

The unit continues to show the green light even when the unit is fully charged. If you tap the satellite bars, the next screen shows the battery indicator on the top right. Unfortunately, the latest application (8.351) causes a glitch such that as soon as you undock the unit (PROPERLY, always do it PROPERLY), the indicator immediately shows a drop to about 80% of full.

If you use Home's emulator (Operate my Go), the battery indicator shown there is a simulation of the real battery indicator, not a true indicator.

WOW! That explains my situation! I was thinking it was just my battery losing it's life! I'm glad to find out it's actually a bug

Hi cousie in Oz. I can't think of any reason why the country of origin should make any difference. I'm just wondering that if the unit is second hand (you did say you bought off eBay) it has legit maps on it. If the ttsystem file had been "doctored" in some way to enable dodgy maps then once you upgraded to 8.351 it won't be able to use the maps without redoctoring. Mind you if you have restored your original ttsytem file then that should still work again. Note this forum does not advocate what I'm saying. PM me if you want.
