Home v2.1 is out.........

Well when I downloaded it, it was the time I updated to NavCore 7 as an option came up asking me if I wanted to update.

However, I think it should still work even if you download the executable file from TomTom's site.

During the installation of HOME 2.0 there was an option to keep 1.5 which is what I choose. You may want to uninstall 2.0. Then try installing 1.5, and right after install HOME 2.1 (that's the latest version of HOME).

See if that works for you.

HOME 2.1 - http://www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?Language=1&query=home+2.1&FID=7602

I tried the above, but it still over rides 1.5 - even when I go straigt to the program and try top open it. I am using Vista Ultimate and run it in elevated mode.

Did you possibly rename the .exe file to tomtom2 also and set up new shortcut ?

you can rename the entire Tomtom folder to something like Tomtom_new and you should be able to install Home 1.5 back. Good luck.

I've just downloaded the new version but now every time I connect up my 720 to my computer it wants to download it again. What might I be doing wrong???

Hello and welcome!

When you log into TomTom HOME, is HOME logged in to the TT Server by your email address?

Pedro, yes I was logged in with my email address. It did download the update but didn't install it. I actually went in and unzipped the files and then copied them to the folders on my TT720 and now it doesn't tell me there is still an update. I had also downloaded the new maps and it didn't install that either but I was able to copy the files and it now shows the new map. Do you have any ideas as to why it doesn't do the installs automatically????

Thanks

The maps have to be installed and activated. Copying them over will not work. Al this was much more straight forward with home 1.5. I would call support about the maps. If they are legit downloads you are entitled to, they will help you set them up and activate.

2.1 backup - be careful!

it appears the backup option no longer gives you the option to name the backup file AND to make matters worse it overwrites the (existing) backup01 contents without warning.

Bad planning by the designers!
