I don't worry about Windows trying to 'fix' files like that .. they're what Windows creates after it's already tried to 'fix' something <no!> However, his file system may have real issues that we need to clean up. Our more typical malfunction is that a user sees the *.chk files and thinks that Windows has created them and manually deletes them!# Don't allow it to "fix" any files with the ".chk" extension to the filename.
Windows thinks they are left-over file fragments from previous crashes, which can be safely deleted.
But on a TomTom (Linux-based) they are something completely different (voice files, warning sounds etc.)
