frozen

The file you need for the unit to 'see' the map is the meta.dct file and you have it in your map folder.

You did not respond: Does the unit detect the map when you copy the folder back? Nevermind whether Home sees it.

If the unit freezes, often a result of NOT disconnecting the unit properly from the computer.

See the information in this link ... especially the last 2 links at the bottom of the page.

No, the unit is not recognizing the map. I am pretty sure I am disconnecting the unit properly. What do I do next?

When you look at the contents of the unit using Explorer, do you see a specific map folder with files and folders within?

Yes - previously on this thread I attached a screen shot of my USA_And_Canada folder as seen from explorer. I believe you said that looks complete. Is there any other specific folder/files you want me to check on?

Sorry, I am totally confused........

Are you trying to install the Oz map or the USA_Canada map on your unit?

I am trying to remove the australia map (and any of its remnants) and put back my USA/Canada map. I re-tried the pin reset - no luck, back to "no maps found screen". Please dont tell me I need to re-purchase a USA/Canada map...

Might be time to try running the clear flash utility on the device a few times as this has been known to resolve map activation issues which it would appear to be the problem - Mike

I cleared the flash, it asked me to re-install the application. It now goes back to the frozen "tom tom" screen once I properly disconnect. I have tried the pin reset again but no luck. What do i do next?
