"Consumer Reports" GPS ratings Feb. 2013

Looks like CR is in love with Garmin; are they choosing form over function; would former or present Garmin owners opine?

My expensive Garmin (that died shortly after the warranty expired) caused me to miss turns. The display and voice lagged my location so that I passed my turn before the Garmin "caught up".
My TomTom displays the location accurately.
No more Garmins for me!
