Compass Question

I nearly always wait until the snowfall is over before getting the snowblower out except in cases where the snowfall exceeds 24".
That would have been fun that day. As I said, NO blower. Snow heavy and wet.
Locked up after one foot of pushing, had to be lifted and carried to the sides
where the snow started a 2 feet high and then the windrow commenced.
Like to see you drive a car in 24" of wet snow! (What are snow tires anyway?)

Now, back to previously scheduled programming.
I drove today with the 930 on but no route planed.

But you bring up an interesting point. I was using my 720 during a whiteout last winter and it was great help in seeing where the road I was on curved left or right.
But that is exactly what is happening with 3D view.
With a route planed and 2D map I can get either
-travel direction at the top or -north at the top.

If I am still misunderstanding (again?), could someone with the old version
make a screen print and show it here please.

Cheers,
Arno

Got a little annoyed today. Driving without a destination set and 2D maps selected.

2D map - travel direction at the top I found pretty useless as I am thinking of north at the top.
2D map - north at the top was infuriating as that little compass arrow went all over the place
and once in a while after turns actually did point to north.

I was quite satisfied with the compass pointing to north when I use the 3D map and the travel direction is at the top.

A compass that is supposed to point north but does not, may just get me thoroughly lost in an
unfamiliar area while the sun is not visible.
