I am the original poster for this thread, a topic that goes back nearly 2 years. The original "phantom" route that didn't delete from the TomTom GO app 23 months ago is still there, whereas all the other dozens of routes did delete back then.
Now I have just returned from a 6 week trip to USA and Europe where I drove about 50 pre-planned routes using Apple CarPlay in the various cars I rented. I took my TomTom GO 620 as a backup in case CarPlay gave trouble, but didn't need to use it. The routes were all pre-planned here at home in Oz using the plan.tomtom.com website on my iMac desktop and my MacBook laptop.
I still stand by my earlier comments in other forum threads that the plan.tomtom.com planner is inferior to the one it replaced, but it is the one we have, so we have to put up with it.
Apart from a few strange diversions that didn't make sense, and some roadwork road closures that didn't show up, the drives went well and the TomTom GO app performed as expected.
After returning home, I deleted all of the 50 routes from my TomTom account and they have deleted from plan.tomtom.com and from the My Drive app on iPhones and iPads, but five of the 50 routes still stubbornly remain on the My Routes list on the TomTom GO app. And this is regardless of the device that the TomTom GO app is accessed from.
So now, after early 2 years of having an annoying phantom route on the phone app that cannot be deleted, I now have 6 such routes that cannot be deleted, as it is not possible to delete a My Route from the app, unless the route was created on the app. And if a route is deleted from the web application that created it, and it is still stuck on the app, there is nothing that can be done other than TomTom fixing the problem. But 2 years later, the problem remains unfixed.
And something that is a mystery is:
A My Place that was created on the plan.tomtom.com web planner can be deleted from the app using Edit List, but a My Route cannot be deleted (unless it was created within the app) because Edit List is greyed out.
