Cannot backup Tom Tom XL 330S

In Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer), highlight the drive depicted by the unit. Right click and one of the menu options is 'format'.

Don't use quickformat. If you are asked, select FAT32 as the method.

That is my hope that everything will get restored and operating properly. The key folder is the map folder. Everything else can be downloaded for free, if necessary.
 
I figured out how to format and did so. I took hours and then it took hours to restore everthing back to the device from the backup folder. All is good again!

You are welcome. Unfortunately, for recent models such as yours, TomTom only made the units USB 1.1 compliant, not 2.0. Consequently, any copying from and to the unit is just deadly, as you've noticed.
