Anyone know of any more updates on the TomTom GO app?

Based on our analysis, we have observed that only a small number of users have been utilising the weekly updates. Additionally, we understand that the process of updating every week can be time-consuming for our customers.

Therefore, we believe that transitioning to a monthly update would be more customer-friendly and efficient. With a monthly update, you will still receive the necessary information, but in a consolidated and more manageable manner.

This change will allow us to focus on providing comprehensive updates while saving you time and effort.

We appreciate your understanding and are confident that this adjustment will enhance your experience with our service.

Before the weekly updates started we only used to get map updates at infrequent & much more than monthly intervals. I think a monthly interval for maps updates is OK. Thanks for keeping us informed.

The TomTom app is pants, it’s a Dinosaur. I dropped it when it couldn’t say “Birmingham” the maps look awful.
I use Apple Maps on CarPlay. The spoken directions put “Serena” to shame.
They won’t make a new app because they’re constantly pushing their stick on Nav’s which nobody wants these days.
TomTom will soon be gone.

Unfortunately Apple Maps doesn't give an audible warning when you exceed the speed limit or when you are approaching a traffic camera. This is one of the most useful features of TomTom Go Navigation.

I've not heard anything, I'm guessing they are just developing Amigo, which does have some nice features in it like reading out speed limits for the cameras to name one of them, I don't use the Serena voices, I use the voices on my phone because the Serena voice keeps breaking. But no new features have been added to Go for a while now so I pressume development is dead

Yea, I binned Serena off too and selected the phones internal voices rather use the tomtom voices.

But I will add about the Go maps, they are ok, but I've submitted loads of things to fix which they have but it's been on things I wouldn't have expected to see, like it would never navigate me into my local Asda for fuel, basically to walk in lol. But I've done nearly 2k miles this summer for holiday and it did navigate me very well, I prefer it over Google for driving

Yes, but you have not used it in countries where speed cameras not working, e.g. Bosnia and Herzegovina :(

It is unlikely that this will work, on Tomtom GO, speed cameras are not available for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Do you know the reason for that?

I have more than 10 reports by now on tomtom.com/mapshare, all are accepted and they are implemented on online plan.tomtom.com, and after two updates they are implemented in offline maps for Bosnia and Herzegovina. So that works great.

So what is the problem with speed cameras?
Why are they different?
I reported more than once one of them here in my hometown, just to test will it show on the map. Also on my travels not a single one was shown.

Why?

Is it a technical reason? But I don't see how could it be.
If it is not a technical reason...then what is it?

I created a ticket on TomTom support about this, and they told me to report cameras

I was talking about the audible warning that TomTom gives me when I exceed the speed limit not about speed cameras. With the audible warning I keep to the speed limit & don't care about speed cameras. I had assumed that this is just a default function of TomTom maps & not dependent on either traffic information or speed cameras.

@BL_BL Do you get over speed limit warnings in Bosnia & Herzegovina?

Oh, so it is a matter of administration, of some sort.

Too bad :(

I hope it will be resolved in some point.

Whey I bought TomTom subscription I was hoping that I will have navigation and speed cameras in one app, so that I don't need to use another app in the same time just for speed cameras.

Do you get over speed limit warnings in Bosnia & Herzegovina?
I didn't try that, I have disabled alerts for speeding.

I was impressed how accurate are TomTom data about speed limit. There are some roads where speed limit data is not accurate, but most of the time they are very accurate.

But I don't think that enabling warning for speeding would be convenient.
