Am I going to regret getting the 920T

no worry

 I just purchased a 920T off E-Bay, I thought i did do some pretty good research... it was a toss up between the Tomtom 920T or the addon Kenwood KNA-G510 for my Kenwood stereo system... But now looking over this forum I see alot of problems with the tomtom unit, this is my first ever Navigation unit , Just want to hear some really positive stuff, by the way this is my first post......

Hey Mate,
I thought the same thing bought one 2 from ebay and did not know was it good or bad but have to say I managed to get everything working. Nothing is perfect at this price but this is the closest you will get. Now I just need one of that 16GB SD cards and make it work than Im ready lol:)
Cheers Siggi

I am thinking about upgrading from my 510 to a 920T- is it worth it???? I am also just considering getting the new 7.15 NA map for my 510! Can anyone truly recommend the 920T??

in short NO WAY, it is fantastic. Everything has issues in life including life, once you get past the littel things, you will be on your way. Everything has a learning Curve.

GOT IT LAST NIGHT AND TRIED IT ON THE WAY TO WORK,,.. Its off by 150 feet.... When i was in front of my company it said i still had 150 feet to go... Trying to get the MP3's to play over the FM tuner... Need to find a good station for it... Waiting for my ProClip....... What's weird is that its accurate like when you come to street on the map its right on, or if i sitting in my house with it , it shows exactly where my house is...

Street numbers are mostly estimated in ALL maps. Nobody verifies every street number...too expensive.

I think all GPS's out there have different quirks and different things it does well. I had a Magellan 3050T before I bought the TomTom 920T (the former got stolen). I prefer the 920T's bugs over the 3050T's. :) I *love* that TomTom is trying to be responsive (albeit with a canned answer) to problems reported with the latest firmware update (vs. Magellan, who tried very hard to ignore their customers when a firmware update failed and for the first few weeks told everybody that they'd never heard of the problem before).

I also love how innovative TomTom has been about finding creative ways to address what customers are asking for. For example, in response to requests for better maps, Magellan said "not our maps, therefore not our problem; we'll give you this year's corrections next year," while TomTom lets everyone share map corrections realtime.

I kinda' wish that I'd waited for the 930 now with the IQ Route feature given there are some "expressways" around here with horrible traffic light timing which the GPS's prefer, but oh well.

I'd be very curious to see how IQ works... I am sure TT has modelled it, but it doesn't make intuitive sense to me, since traffic can vary so much due to any number of factors, like road construction, weather, etc.

I'll be interested in seeing if the 930 lets you enter mixed alphanumeric street numbers. And whether or not they've included Greece back in the Euro maps.

Greece is not coming back until the quality improves dramatically from TeleAtlas.

according to the club tomtom site, the 920 just had a price drop. so there's another reason to buy, if some of you are still on the fence. it's a great unit.
