Sorry to get back to you late,
Anyway, the address you provided above is NO WHERE to find. In one of your previous post, you said you found it on Google Maps with no problem.
Are you sure about it???? Because I've tried and nothing comes up.
So, Google Map NavTeq can't locate it, Google Map TeleAtlas can't locate it, Microsoft MapPoint 2006 can't locate it.
The question is how do you find it on Google Map???

The address is just off to the right of the destination. "B" shows the destination as Plank road, but the address in question is just off to the right of that. That little section is the Town of Harrison. The rectangular lines.

I couldn't find it in Google either. It finds Plank road and puts the mark in the center of the road. I tried it using Menasha and Harrison and the results were the same.

I found the address you provided, using Google Maps, but it took some coaxing. Plank appears to be a split road.


When I entered: W7084 Plank road Menasha, WI 54952, Google returned this (erroneous) result. A generic Plank Road location:

But when I removed the "W" & re-submitted, it found the house along a different section of Plank:

It appears that Google doesn't recognize "x####" as a valid search format, but such addresses do exist in their database. (Note the opposite results of the W between the Google Address bar & resulting Sidebars.)


Back to TomTom:
From zooming around this location & following Manitowoc Road diagonally Northeast of Oneida Road, Manitowoc veers Eastward & another section of Plank Road continues to the Northeast for several blocks:

This section is listed in TomTom's database under the ZipCode "Menasha 54915" but there don't seem to be any addresses listed along it.

And while erroneous (ie. ripe for some MapShare corrections), it shows that this is a completely irrelevant example as to whether or not TomTom accepts "x####" formatted addresses.

So, unless I'm looking at the wrong section, we'll need another x#### address to properly test TomTom's database searching capabilities.

I don't have my gps with me now, will try again later.
In the mean time, as Bama/Ricochet once confirmed that you cannot find this address on Google Maps (both NavTeq and TeleAtlas) if you enter W7084 ....
however, as Ricochet has said, just enter 7084 w/o "W" in front, it will show up in, again, both Google Maps types.
That means, it should also show on your Tomtom device, thereotically. I will confirm this when I got my gps.
I've attached 2 images that I captured that specific address on both Google Maps NavTeq and TeleAtlas. It's off a little bit, please tell us which one is the correct location.

With v805.1801 NA map on my unit, the address of W7084 Plank Rd, Menasha, WI 54952 (with or without "W") cannot be found.
Tomtom should work on this issue right now.
I sense that the next map releases will fix this problem (hopefully) since Google Maps TeleAtlas works OK.
In the mean time, you can "Browse Map", select that location and save as Favorite for now.

That's what I'm seeing too. TomTom's database has no house number entries for that road. This letter-numbering seems to be a rural Wisconsin thing. I spent some time browsing the map of Wisconsin, trying to locate a (any) w#### or n#### house number and ultimately failed. Difficult to find those stray farmhouses... But that Plank Road address you posted wasn't so rural & IMO, should have been present in the DB.

So, I think you may be right that TomTom doesn't accept this format. Unless the interface changes based on a street's numbering scheme, it only presents numbers for input--even when using a PC keyboard through the Home interface.


I also attempted to modify some local house numbers to: "w10-w99" for Finding. No luck.

BTW, I'm testing all this on a ONE 3rd Ed with the USA & Canada 720.1802 map.

The Town of Harrison is 30 square miles of land, and 80 miles of road! You would think that TomTom could find that! Having a Menasha Address, but living in the Town of Harrison confuses TomTom!
