Tomtom can't find any addresses that start with a letter. For instance. w2222. You go to the street screen, and punch in w, and then hit the 1,2,3 at the bottom of the screen, and punch in the rest of the address, but it never works. Can't see the point of even having the option if it doesn't work!

Not really sure this is gonna help but, did you try to use just the numbers? I know sometimes the units want just the numbers then it'll ask east, west, north or south.

I tried that too. That doesn't work either. Thanks anyway.

If you don't mind, can we have the address (not your address, though so don't worry)? just the address that starts with the letter so we can try it out.

The trouble is he lives in the Town of Harrison Wi, but he has a Menasha, Wi Address. TomTom can't find the town of Harrison. It has Harrison, Wi. listed, but that is different.

What happens if you put "Menasha" as the city?

I have been putting Menasha as the city. I even just put in the zip code, but still nothing. It just isn't just that one. It seems like any address with W----- in the address it can't find. I put in just the numbers, and still nothing.

Unless you give us a valid address as an example so we can try it out, we probably can't help you. :(

If you're unwilling to do so, then think about calling support.

The address is W7084 Plank road Menasha, Wi. 54952

Thanks. I tried it on my ONE XL, with NavCore 8.010 and the newest "USA and Canada" map. (Speaking of which, can anybody tell me how to find the version number of the map?) Anyway, here's what happened:

Navigate to --> Address --> Street and house number

City: I typed in "Menasha" and selected "Menasha WI" from the list
Street: I typed in "Plank" and was presented with a list of 3 possibilities:

Plank Rd (Menasha, 54952)
Plank Rd (Appleton)
Plank Rd (Menasha, 54915)

For both the "(Appleton)" and the "(Menasha, 54915)" selections, I was told "House numbers are not available". The only option was to use "Cross Street".

For the "(Menasha, 54952)" option, only house numbers 800 through 1899 were available. I chose 1899, then went to "Browse Map" and zoomed in on the area.

The map shows that Plank Road ends after 1899 (at Oneida Rd) where it junctions with Highway 10. The map shows that the road name after that is simply "Highway 10".

Are you familiar with the area? Is that what actually happens?

Fastest way to find the version number is this:

Tap the satellite bars once to see the firmware version installed in your unit. Now, tap THAT screen to see the map installed, the version and build number.

There are other ways to find the map info but that's the quickest, I think.

I tapped the satellite bars and saw the firmware version on the Status summary screen. HOWEVER, I then had to tap the little "firmware version button thingy" to see the map version. If I just tap anywhere on the satellite screen, it takes me back to my default view. Tapping on the long button thingy saying "7 satellites" takes me to the GPS Status screen.

FTR, my map is 'USA_and_Canada' v720.1802

Thanks! :)

I don't have my unit with me but I wonder what would happen if you tried the address as a Hwy 10 address???

Sorry to get back to you late,
Anyway, the address you provided above is NO WHERE to find. In one of your previous post, you said you found it on Google Maps with no problem.
Are you sure about it???? Because I've tried and nothing comes up.
So, Google Map NavTeq can't locate it, Google Map TeleAtlas can't locate it, Microsoft MapPoint 2006 can't locate it.
The question is how do you find it on Google Map???
