After map updated to V885, my Tom Tom Home (version 2.8) has the message that my map has not been updated for more than two weeks and Mapshare is not offered.

More than 2 weeks or 20 weeks!!!

It's the same stupid message everyone sees after downloading a new map. You'd think the programmers would learn after a while ....... you'd think.......

i have same problem but my question is does this rectify itself or is it because its a new map and no updates are avalible yet ????

would also like to here if any new uk roads have been finally updated as im still waiting for burnt tree island to be removed in dudley as its now traffic lights etc

Mapshare downloads usually are enabled within a few days of a map being released. Until then everyone gets the "over 20 weeks old, but mapshares aren't available" error.

does anybody know how long a new builld estate or road takes to appear on a map as ive had over a years maps and some local new build still not appearing :mad:

Sometimes, years! Seriously.

You can try reporting new roads/estates on the tomtom.com/mapshare/tools
link

so what are we paying for if local roads still not on map ,is there a way to find out whats different with the new map because as of yet i see no changes ??:mad::confused:

Tomtom changes hundreds of thousands of roads each release so you'll never get a changelog.

I've found that, when using the website, road issues get fixed much quicker, and you get a status of the issue and its progress.

This is the first map update in years that has NOT deleted my Favorites, i.e., mapsettings.cfg. I wonder why it took so long to fix this programming anomaly.

It got fixed long ago for newer models. (it still fails SOMETIMES though...)

It seems to me some recent roads that were previously present in the map have now been removed in this update.

That happens. To try to keep the size of new maps under control, certain data sometimes gets dropped, such as (supposed) minor roads in 2D or 3D display, etc.

I haven't downloaded/installed the new map as yet. The last time I updated the map I lost the map corrections I had already made. Took a number of days to correct the speed limit in I-95 in Palm Beach County (65 not 55).

As been recommended in the past, I saved the following files (see below) then re-installed those files. Didn't make a difference.

To save the corrections you've already made...

From the map folder:
"mapuserpatch.dat", "mapsettings.cfg"

From the root: "UserPatch.dat"

sombody tell me

hi well ive still got my error message and no corrections ???? has anybody got theres yet or are we all in the same boat ???? if they have then how do i get rid of error message ???

No, there have been no additions to 885 from the MapShare server yet. Usually takes a couple of weeks before they start to crank them out again, so you'll have to live with the silly 20 week message for a while longer.
