I have downloaded map with compressed format (.rar). Inside it, there are a dozen files with different file types, e.g. .dat, .meta, .pna ... I have no idea what they are for and I was wondering how I could do with these files. Are they really map files?

Regards,
Pisut T.

Thankk you for your suggestions.
By the way, let me show you what is inside the compressed (.rar) file.

Here are the list of files that come with the downloaded file:

cline.dat
cname.dat
cnode.dat
faces.dat
mapinfo.dat
poi.dat
tables.dat
Thailand-105.meta
Thailand.pna

It does not come with activation_map.cab or map_name.toc file. When I go to C:\Documents and Settings\myname\My Documents\TomTom\HOME\Downloads\complete\, there is no folder ..\my_map_name as well as *.dat/*.meta/*.pna files. I have no idea whether I should install the downloaded map on my device or not.

Where did you get the map from? TomTom? What model TomTom do you have?

I got it from **********.com via *******.com.

The one I am using is TomTom One IQ Route 140S.

Thanks to 'dhn' for your kindness trying to help out.

I think I'd better go find out about this some place.

Thank you again.
