I knew TomTom had some new source of data for traffic. This is it. There are from what I have read about 15 million active Blackberry phones in the US and those almost always have a data plan.
RIM had purchased Dash as it was in its death throes and they were using their own phones for Blackberry traffic now those are going into TomToms HD Traffic. The article doesn't say that but its a good assumption.
This would be gps data as opposed to cell phone triangulation. Accurate and in plentiful supply now for TomTom and its users.
