Hello, I’m having issues with my TomTom Trucker. When route is set to a destination i am unable to use the x in the bottom left corner to cancel the route.

The screen has been replaced and I am able to use the voice control to cancel routes.

However I believe this is a software issue.

I’ve done a hard reset and updated my Tom Tom but still no luck.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Do we know when an update fix will be ready?

Hi
I don't think this is a software problem otherwise many of you will report it.

In my opinion Tomtom is no longer working on the trucker so no more updates planned.

Who changed the screen for you if it's Tomtom to report the problem.

Have you tried reinstalling the software.

I reinstalled the software before changing the screen. Once the screen was replaced I was able to use the bottom left corner.

The issue is being unable to use the x when a route is planned. I am able to use the burger menu which is in the same place. It is literally just the x when a destination is planned.

Have you done a reset with the power button or a factory reset of the device?

You say you changed the screen, are you sure that the screen is compatible with a trucker?

There is no difference between a 'trucker' screen and any other for the same hardware. A 620 Professional is the same hardware as the GO 620, etc. The difference is only firmware and maps. What appears on the screen is strictly a function of the firmware. And the lower left of the screen responds when the 'hamburger' is shown there, so it's not a touch issue.

Which pro model do you have (there are several over many years - give us the first 2 characters of your serial number if you don't know) and what firmware version is it running now?
When you press the "X", does it respond at all - does it even highlight when touched?

I didn't know that a trucker 5 or 6 screen was the same as a GO 5200 or 6200 pro.

"...compatible with a trucker?"

Within a given model build, all of the trucker (pro) screens are the same as the camper and automotive ones.
Anyway, with the hamburger working, we know that touch is OK down in the lower left corner, so the screen is OK.

ZW are the first 2 characters of the serial number.

23.100.0003

OK. You have one of the newer model truckers there. And your screen was used for the 7" Trucker (actually called Expert), Camper Max, and Exclusive, so a screen from any of those will do nicely.

23.100.0003 is indeed the most recent firmware for your device.

Just curious about your original failure. What happened, and was the screen responsive anywhere after the accident?

I was updating maps using personal hotspot while navigating. When I got close to my destination the maps started zooming in and out and glitching. It was at this point I tried to use x to get rid of the route.

The x didn’t work and the glitching stopped after around 3 minutes.

The glitches continue to be intermittent when using the device

Occurs to me that I have never tried updating maps while navigating in all the years I've been dealing with these devices (dating back to December 2007). In particular, I don't know what these newer ones are prone to if one tries that.

I do know that the map update process is both very CPU and memory intensive, and I guess I'm not surprised that there was some odd behavior. So it was just maps, not firmware at the time?

That said, still wondering why you had to replace the screen. That's what I was asking about.

Yes, that is correct. It was just a process of elimination. With ruling that out I now know exactly that is a software issue
