ONE XL won't discover phone, but phone discovers it

My phone is a LG VX11000, a.k.a. EnV Touch. I put both devices in discovery mode, and the phone quickly found the ONE XL, and asked me to type in the password (0000 worked). However, the GPS will not find the phone. I know these two may not be compatible, but it seems odd that the phone could detect it if they are not.

Let me know if there are any other steps I should take.
