Via 52
Hi. Please help!
I bought a “new but opened” VIA 52 from eBay and the seller states it was tested as working before selling.
It isn’t.
It cannot pick up a GPS signal. The arrow is always grey. It think it’s at Big Ben. I’ve done everything I’ve looked at online and in a chat with TomTom - updated, connected to my drive, left it outside to get a signal, fully charged. Nothing.
Is it buggered and I’ve been lied to??

Hi
I don't think it's okay to turn your GPS on outside in a clear area towards the sky all night if necessary.

Try 1 or 2 hours if possible your GPS has been turned off in a place far from your position so it needs to find the position of the satellites.

The entire constellation almanac is transmitted every 12.5 minutes, so it should never take 1-2 hours unless there's something else going wrong.

Yes, I agree, I say 1 to 2 hours to give the GPS room to connect to the satellite if after 1 or 2 hours it cannot connect, either it is a problem with the GPS or the software which does not It's not up to date or it's the windshield that doesn't let the GPS signal through.

Yes. Reset it a number of times (soft and hard) and it was outside outside, not under the windscreen - it had a full clear view of the sky.

Did you connect it to Mydrive connect to update QuickGPSFix?
Connected to my drive and updated. Couldn’t see anything for QuickGPSFix as an option… it says “your decide is up to date” so assume I couldn’t do more.
