Hello, hoping you can help!

I have some planned routes in plan.tomtom and unable to send any routes to my device. My device is connected to my one and ONLY account, and connected via wi-fi and bluetooth. Oddly if I delete a route from plan.tomtom it disappears from my device. My issue is no new routes I create will synch and show up. I have a Europe trip planned on Tuesday, this is so frustrating.

Hi
You create your routes with Tomtom.plan.
So it seems. All my old routes wouldn't synch, but any new ones created in 'plan' worked. Old routes now gone and planning new ones, pain in the butt, but there you go!

Try going on the device and sign back into your account. Mine did similar once and I found it was not actually connected even though it appeared to be.

You are relying on some server in the cloud to push the route from the server down to your GPS.
When you're not in a hurry and the "push" works, this can be just fine.
But if you're in a hurry and just need to get it done, then I'd consider the manual method:

download the GPX
manually copy the GPX to the GPS device
manually import the thing as a route/track (whatever)

manually copy the GPX to the GPS device
The last Rider device where that was possible was the Rider 2013 aka Rider 5.

Starting with the Rider 400, the entire file system of the device was locked down, and it became necessary to go through TomTom's MyDrive online planner to move data to the device.

We can only WISH that it still worked the way you describe (sigh). It was a lot more fun (and easier) then.

@Vince01
From what I see under your avatar, you own both a Rider 400 and 550.

Have you tried to sync to both of them, and both of them failed when logged in with the same account? Or is only one of your devices a problem? Your posts don't say which, or both, are giving you trouble.

I see you are a moderator and you must therefore speak only the truth. ;-)
Maybe this means we have a bit of a semantic misunderstanding.

Here are some screenshots where I plug the TomTom Rider 550 into my computer.
Then on my windows laptop, the TomTom Rider now shows up under the "This PC" in my file browser.
And I'm able to copy GPX files to either the internal storage or to an SD card that is in the TomTom.

When I unplug the cable, I am then prompted by the Rider 550 which files on the machine I would like to import as a route/track (sorry, I will never get routes vs tracks straight).

Does this not fall into the description of manually copying GPX files onto the device?

Indeed, that's what it is. A distinction regarding what "manually copy the GPX to the GPS device" means. You don't get to "copy" anything, though you'd never know that to look at the interface TomTom provides. You can use File Explorer to upload files across the TCP/USB bridge software that TomTom provides with MyDrive Connect to make its last couple of generations accessible to a PC. It's slick, and it mostly works, but is why these devices show up under "Network Adapters" in Device Manager rather than showing up as a "USB Mass Storage Device" under "Universal Serial Bus controllers" the way they did way back when.

Back in the pre-Rider 400 days, they were registering with Windows as Mass Storage Devices, looked like a thumb drive, and it was possible to copy directly from a PC folder/directory to a Rider folder/directory. Now one can't even see the folders/directories on the Rider. The Rider 400 (and 550) and all of the devices from Nav3 forward are actually little mini-servers. In fact, that's been true of all of TomTom's nav devices for a fair number of years now.

Some time, with your Rider 550 connected, type this into your favorite browser as a url and see what shows up:
I think it still works on a 550.
