When does free speed camera / fuel price etc start?

Just purchased a new TomTom with limited time offer for speed camera, fuel price etc. As I will not be using the device until next spring will the free trial start from purchase date or when I first register it on my Drive ?
 
The free trial of speed cameras and fuel prices starts the day you turn on your GPS for the first time.
