When connecting TomTom to computer - TomTom switches off wifi

G'day all.

I have a TomTom Via 620 and every time I connect through usb to my laptop it disconnects my wifi and acts as a network adaptor. @#$#%#!!!!

Operating system is Windows 7.

I've tried ?almost? everything to address this but so far no luck.

Can some one give me a hand with this one please. Much appreciated.

The gist of that change recommended by mvl is to make your TomTom look SO slow in comparison to your WiFi 'network adapter' that it ceases to be preferred as a connection device to the outside world. Higher number = presumed slower connection.
