What does the reset button do?

I was connected to my laptop when the TT Home "froze" and I had to end the program, the TT1 lost all my fav's etc. I can't connect to my desktop for a restore because it's packed we are moving.. Now the TT1 is a little "hosed"..What does the rest button do? Will I loose any map updates on a reset or what?

It's just like rebooting your pc. Should restart the program but no loose any data. (key word... SHOULD)
