VR missing on 8.010

Is it me or did we loose Voice Recogniton on another update? This time with 8.010? I can't find it anywhere on my menus. I can select 'navigate to spoken address (dialog)" in the quick menu but when I select it, it does nothing.

What map and version do you have? Do you have the support_asr.dat file with a 1 in it in the asr folder? Have yiu tried a pin reset?

Anway....some things to consider.

I have both North America and Europe maps V720. No I don't have support_asr.dat file in my ASR folder in both my tomtom and the backup copy I have. The pin reset has not done anything either. This is weird.

Update:

I installed my original backup from when I bought the unit, not my last backup. I started with v7.221 and maps v710 and updated from there. I now have VR once again. TomTom v8.010 and maps v720 and all is well with the world. Thanks to all for the help.

Same thing happened to me. Called TT and of course they are aware that this upated has bugs in it and "They are working on it"... this is a freakin joke. Had my TT 920 for about 6 months and this is the second "update" that has killed VR.

Gotta love there IT dept...
