Voices on 340TM

I have selected a few extra voices from HOME for my new 340TM. However, when I go to voices on the device itself, they dont show up.

When I check the voices "on computer" and "on device" they do show up.

Any thoughts?

Are these computer or recorded voices?

And are you saying when you go to Change Voices, that when you scroll through the choices, they aren't listed?

Yes, when I scroll thru the voices, they arent listed.

I dont have the device in front of me (in my daughters car), but I do believe they are recorded voices, infact if I choose one or the other (I forget) for installing, it gave a msg that one or the other wouldnt function for text to voice or something to that effect, so I chose the other.

I shall double check the next time I have my hands on the 340.

If a reset on the unit doesn't work, look at the contents of the voices folder with Explorer.

You'll see two files: a dataXX.chk file and a dataXX.vif file for each voice there.

The .vif file is a text file you can view with notepad.

Scroll to the one you downloaded and try this:
rename both files so that the XX part is a numeric value between 75 and 99.

e.g, data80.chk and data80.vif.
