Voices going in and out, POI Alerts not playing

Out of the blue yesterday, I stoppped hearing audible directions, and POI alerts were not playing. I powered down my unit twice, then audio came back. Later that day and this morning I encountered the same problem. I haven't made any changes recently. Any ideas?
