Is there a way to change the pronunciation of a street name or town so the Tom Tom can say it correctly? While it does a good job most of the time, some of the street and town names near me are unusual spellings / pronunciation, so even people sometimes have hard times saying it correctly.

I know that somewhere in mapshare is something to check off that corrects pronouciations but I forgot where. I think the pronounciation thing should be under Existing street button maybe

Two options:

1) rename the street to a more phonetic spelling in mapshare, that the TTS can figure out.

2) Modify the TTS hint file. The hint file is in different locations on different models, so if you're interested in this, please post your model number.

I really don't want to change the spelling of the streets. I know it might be the easiest way to do it, but I'd rather have just the pronunciation changed. The model is a 130S.

Thank you. Since I haven't seen any posts supporting evidence the program works on my model of tomtom, I will not be trying it right now. I at least have the information now in case other users do show it to work.
