Using UK Tom Tom in US

Hi,

I have a Tom Tom ONE IQRoutes Edition (UK).

I am visiting US in August and wondered how easy or not it would be to change my maps and use it in the USA.

My major concern is the power. I'm guessing the cigarette lighter attachment will be a different size in US cars. What about the end that goes into the Tom Tom, is that the same? If I bought a connector in US would that work?

The cigarette lighter in both Europe and the US is the same. You can use your cable from Europe here in North America.

thanks for the reply - guess the limiting factor is how confident I am changing the maps. I don't think I have enough room for both.

You should be able to use Explorer to copy the existing map folder to the computer and then delete it from the unit.

Then install the new map on the unit. Reverse the process when you need the current map.
