It's kind of time consuming but I found a neat 'conversation-piece' feature of the tomtom 930. Works to demonstrate tomtom's customization to friends who went for lower priced cosco available non-tomtom gps units.
Using the add-poi-category + warn_when_near_poi feature of the 930, My 930 will now announce the following at marked locations in our city:
'Grand_ma_house 150 meters'.. or 'George's house 250 meters', or 'Place_were_I_got_ticket 250 meters'. or 'watch_out_speed_camera' 250 meters'....
Future project would include: "did_you_forget something 150 meters"... useful reminder that comes up along my route to workplace.
