Hello all,

Just got my 2505. While I do like the unit, it's buggy.... real buggy.

My pet peeves are:

a) unable to load other maps (want to add Eurporean but can't... any news when and if this is poosible?)

a) couple of error messages ehre and there... (Problem occurred while loading
file://usr/share/webkit/content/device/)

c) my USB device is detected as 1005 (why?? It's a 2505... can this be changed??)

Many thx to all

The bugs you mention have been reported by others.

The "problem occurred while loading" error appears to be in Canadian-French only. You can temporarily switch languages until Tomtom fixes the bug.

Loading maps is a feature that hasn't been built yet. No promised date, but (since maps cost $$) I bet Tomtom will build it before anything else.

The 1005 error is also a bug, hopefully resolved soon.

With all bugs, call Tomtom and report them. The more calls they get, the more they might prioritize a fix. The good thing with the GO 2505 is that it is on the latest software platform, so it will be the first in line to get bugfixes.

You can also report it here, as Tomtom employees do check in with forum moderators from time to time, and we relay those vote threads to them.

How annoying is this?

Just had an email from tomtom

"Good news! We?re giving you a free download of speed camera locations through MyTomTom.

The latest locations of fixed speed cameras can change, so make sure you update your device to drive safely and stay relaxed ? plus avoid costly fines."

Also in the same email...

"Latest map guarantee - if a new map is available for your device within 90 days of first use, you can download that map once for free"

The very same day I get an email from Customer Support telling me the updates and latest map guarantee still do not work via mytomtom but they hope to fix this "in the near future"

Which makes me see red - they are still banging out advertising emails about a feature that still does not work?

Thx, but quite upsetting nonetheless.

I realize the marketing behind getting this unit out for Christmas, but quality should drive schedule, not the other way around.

I kind of miss my Garmin right now...
