Hi, i work for a refurnishing company called LootHive and we have a bunch of motherboards of the 2535 Live's and we have weird issue. When we start up the motherboard we notice it starts with a gear and goes into some kind of component testing menu. TomTom support was no help because this is now an unsupported unit. Is there any way this menu can be bypassed or fixed?

The 'gear' typically indicates a 'recovery mode' operation is taking place.
Does it look like this?

That said, your 2535 motherboards are from devices produced in 2011 and are 'end of life' at this point, and receive no further support from TomTom. This is primarily due to lack of uSD card support and small internal memory available for map storage.

The 'Carlisle' device uses 2G for connectivity to the internet for traffic data. Unfortunately, all of the U.S. carriers shut down their 2G service a while back.

I've sent a query to a friend who may be able to elaborate on what you have there.

You talk about 'motherboards' - are you saying you have a number of separate motherboards (electronics outside of the case) that you are installing in a case and finding this issue?
How many do you have behaving this way?
Does the serial number start with the letters SC or SL?

I'd like to see the device above up close and in person.

I have boxes on boxes of these motherboards with this issue, as of right now im sitting on 3 full boxes of MB's with these issues. Since they are just motherboards i do not have the original casing for each, so i do not have the serial number for each of these.

Understood. I added a note to my original post after you posted -

"I've sent a query to a friend who may be able to elaborate on what you have there."

That said, I suspect your boxes of motherboards came from the old TomTom facility in Massachusetts.

How many of the cases and power connectors do you have to accompany these boxes of boards? The cable is unique to the GO 1005 1050 2050 2405 2435 2505 and 2535 models.
I see you have a few you're trying to sell here

No. It may be that they're off on holiday. No news yet.

I was looking again at the eBay page. Some of what is said there applied when the device was first released back in 2011, but is no longer the case. The "Live" function no longer works since 2G service was shut down here, and even though it offered "Lifetime Maps", that lifetime may well be over. It's definitely on the EOL list from TomTom.
