updated maps

I updated maps today. And all i get is guam. Now i did upgrade to 8.3 and i get my maps back. 8.3 is bad i get the numerous skipping as others do. I did the down grade as i was told by other links but i know longer have maps just guam. Is there anyway to have older software with he new maps? Also 8.3 and my cell phone stinks i just get number not the names. Does tomtom test this stuff before they have put it out. I am on my 4th 920

I assume you have the 815 map. You need to have the 8.3 firmware in order to operate the NA 815 map.

anyway to get the old maps back? I have an old backup of my old unit

If you have an old map. just copy it from the back up and paste it over to your tomtom drive or SD card.

You can try the 7.903 software for the 710 or 910. It might work on your model, never tried it. It supports the 8.15 maps.

IQroutes gives you much better directions (which you lose in 7.903), so in my opinion you should just do the stuttering susan fix. This involves installing a newer navcore 8.320 that has only been officially released for tomtom work (so far):
